Program Eligibility
The program will accept Virginia youth who havedeafness, blindness, visual impairment or hearing impairment. Students must be between the ages of ten (10) and seventeen (17) and able to perform daily living skills such as dressing and personal hygiene care independently or with minimal assistance. Participants may enroll either as residential or day students. Parents/guardians of day students are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from the program each day. Enrollment is limited to 50 students. Students meeting enrollment criteria will be accepted on a first come basis. Day and Residential Campers will require: a physical by a physician, record of immunizations (shot record) and a Mantoux TB test. The physical and TB test must be no older than January 1, 2007.
Program Cost and Application Process
There is no cost to participants in this program, however, it is requested that participants have spending money for field trips. A completed application form and a copy of your child’s 2006-2007 IEP must be returned by June 15, 2007. Completion of the application does not guarantee acceptance to the program. Upon review of the application and IEP, you will be notified regarding program acceptance. We look forward to seeing each student at our 2007 summer camp.
