Emergency Closing and Delay Information

Information

During inclement weather (accumulations of snow, ice, flooding, hurricanes, other natural disasters or emergencies within the agency), the Virginia School for the Deaf, Blind and Multi-Disabled will adhere to agency emergency procedures.

Official announcements of emergency school closings or schedule delays will be announced on the following media stations beginning at 6:30 a.m.

WAVY - CHANNEL 10
WTKR - CHANNEL 3
WVEC - CHANNEL 13

During an emergency closing or delay, VSDBM-H staff will contact parents and school divisions of day students to advise them that school is closing or if the schedule will be changed.  Parents of dormitory students  who are transported by the agency will receive a telephone call to inform  them if the school is closing and the time that their child will be transported home.   Parents may call the following numbers for further information during emergency school closings or delays.
