The Human Resource Office provides comprehensive management services to staff and individuals in the community seeking employment at the Virginia School for the Deaf, Blind and Multi-Disabled at Hampton. Human Resource staff members respond to inquiries within all HR areas, including but not limited to:

• Recruitment and selection
• Classification sections
• Wage and salary administration
• Employee relations

The Human Resource staff works closely with the superintendent, program directors, managers, supervisors, and employees to resolve problems and to assist in the accomplishment of strategic goals and objectives.   Assistance is provided in policy development and administration to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.  Additionally, all duties are performed without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, political affiliation, disability, sex or age.
